Steve Blank, Silicon Valley serial entrepreneur, and author of _Four Steps to the Epiphany_ will be presenting at the Fishbon Event Lab Wednesday.
Steve's game-changing approach to building a new company is transforming high tech startups around the world. "Customer Development" is a new way to think about your company, your products, and your customers from the earliest conceptual stage all the way through to reliable, consistent profitability. He'll share this methodology with us, along with the real-world experiences that inspired it. Join us for a night of intriguing insights into the exciting world of high tech entrepreneurship.
Steve's startup experiences include E.piphany, Zilog, MIPS Computers, Convergent Technologies, Ardent, SuperMac, ESL and Rocket Science Games. Total score: two large craters (Rocket Science and Ardent), one dot.com bubble home run (E.piphany) and several base hits.
He now teaches entrepreneurship to both undergraduate and graduate students at U.C. Berkeley, Stanford University and the Columbia University/Berkeley Joint Executive MBA program, with “Customer Development” the core theme in these classes.
In 2009, he was awarded the Stanford University Undergraduate Teaching Award in the department of Management Science and Engineering. The same year, the San Jose Mercury News listed me as one of the 10 Influencers in Silicon Valley. In 2010, I was awarded the Earl F. Cheit Outstanding Teaching Award at U.C. Berkeley Haas School of Business.
He has also given several well-received talks on "The Secret History of Silicon Valley". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZTC_RxWN_xo
