Pyrobar and its Playastanis

The Pyrobar, a Burningman classic, was originally created by Clan Destino. Now back in SB it received a new look to resembling a Pakistan Jingle truck. It has been at 5 major Burner related events in the last 6 month. Join here to get updates.

Thank you all for helping us bringing her back to this years Burningman!

We have been so thrilled to work with you all on the latest revival of the mighty Pyrobar. There are not enough words to express the gratitude we feel toward you all. In its rich history (in burner terms), many have supported it with their blood and sweat, and it made the Pyrobar the very dear and special thing it is. Now it is time to simply enjoy it in its present "glory" and have some plain silly fun. The LA decompression party was a fantastic event and we had a great time. The local fire troops and aerialists jointed forces to create the "Playastanis", a wonderful show-thank you all! We bring her out again for the Fishbon wacky xmas event, mid December, if not before ;-)

I have loads, here's a few.Time for a new color scheme!  It's been through several over the years, lots of red and black.  Perhaps something completely different?  Say, yellow?  White, even?  Or…Continue

Hello you all, we are almost done with some of the heavy mechanical restructuring of the Pyrobar. John will add some cool flame effects soon. We want to start meeting weekends in August to have potluck BBQ's and Barcar love-making time. There is lots to do and we love every bodies help. Right of hand, we need a bunch of material for its decoration. Anybody has a source for small link metal chains? We also need all sorts of exotic jingle stuff, bells, Indian Fabric, ornamental things, bells, metal prints, fine wood pieces.. the list goes on. You can call Mark to talk to him further about what's needed. He is the maha-design maker # 626-215-1793.

I'm interested in helping out with the Barcar. How can I get involved?

We had a very fun party Saturday and made $700 for the Barcar, yeahhhh!!! Tonight, Jason is swinging by to take a look at the beast. Guess the first step will be to lock the suspension so we can load the Barcar without worries. "All aboard!!!"

So, what was the take from the Bar Car Fund Raiser? And when do we start the transformation? Can't wait...

Probably not worth pursuing, but it's possible some useful stuff, mechanicals mostly, could be available: free RV

Hi guys, Mark and I are at the storage place now, and we got the Barcar rolling. Yeahhh! We where hit hard with 5 year old fines at the DMV and long past due storage charges and personally already spend 2K until now. So, we still need a new Transition and much mechanical help plus BM has special demands this year. To allow it to drive at night we need lights (generator operated) and a whole new look. Can't look like an old truck, needs a nose etc..Mark is working on some design drawing we need to propose to BRC and apply for theme camp status. We still need to raise an additional 3k and hope the community will help us out. We are planning a fundraiser on June 5th and are looking to do it at the dairy coop. We let u all know more details but please save the date! Some of our friends from Clan Destino may come and I think Rachael is planning to rally the other fire peeps. I been looking into doing a fashionshow and trunk show with cool movie set clothing and an auction. I am also applying for an alcohol license, fire permit etc.. You can help in many ways and once we are back in SB, I gather more details and have a Fishbon gathering to discuss fundraiser plans. So, wish us luck for the long drive home. Hugs to you all! Corinna

Mission and Purpose

Fishbon’s Purpose:
Fishbon's purpose is to provide a forum, education and support for creative collaboration, mentorship and the visceral experience of visual, aural and performance-based art.  It is also to provide exhibition media for the artists and their art forms.

Fishbon’s Mission:
Fishbon's mission is to encourage collaboration between artists, technologists, writers, designers, performers and participants to create unique, real-time, compelling aesthetic experiences that speak to contemporary audiences.  Fishbon believes the synergy (sharings of perspectives and skills) made possible in a collaborative space creates a unique and special context for art.  By providing context, physical infrastructure, tools, mentoring support and encouragement for creative collaboration, Fishbon is an experiential incubator for emerging cooperative working models.  Much more about the process experience than final product, Fishbon creates a diverse "interactive" learning community that would be difficult to achieve in isolated individual working environments.

Fishbon is a 501 (c) (3) arts organization
